All our furniture starts in water. With the use of different techniques and equipment, we are able to refloat large, top quality logs for making furniture and other wood works.
Freediving is the best way to carry out exploration and identification of sunken pieces, to later be rescued with lifting balloons.
Once on land, the logs are taken to our sawmill where they are washed and processed.
It is a stage of surprises and magic. Aged trunks without further external information, show their identity with each cut made, showing their particular grain on each plank, the colors and aromas of the sawdust that indicate the rescued species.
The cuts take into account the characteristics of each trunk and the future designs to be made.
To dry naturally, the wood is encased in our warehouses, surrounded by renewal forest.
The wind is our main ally in this curing time, a process that can take up to 4 years depending on the species.
Once the wood is dry, it is transported from the south to our workshop in Santiago, where the planks are inventoried again, with a complete record of the wood available to work with.
The mix of manual work and machinery in the workshop, together with the experience and openness to learning of our human team, specify the final transformation of the raw materials into our furniture.
We focus on all the details that highlight the character of our woods, with special emphasis on sanding and sealing, allowing each piece to show its total identity.
